OnePlus 7T Pro – The Smartphone You Didn’t Know You Wanted!

The OnePlus 7T Pro is an upgrade from its predecessor, the OnePlus 7 Pro, with enough new features and performance upgrades to warrant a closer look, especially with the very attractive price tag.
Under the Hood
OnePlus packed the 7T Pro with the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset. On the memory front, you get 8GB of RAM and 256GB onboard memory which makes this device a beast. Even though there’s no option for an SD card, you probably won’t need it with the ample onboard space available.
Screen and Display
While the device is only available in Haze Blue, it’s a striking colour that brings the phone to life. It uses its signature matte, frosted glass finish together with a combination of curved glass on the front and back for a seamless design. It also comes with a pre-fitted screen protector which is an added bonus.
In terms of the display, the OnePlus 7T Pro can easily compete with the big boys. It has a large 6.67-inch screen, which is slightly curved at the edges. The OLED screen offers a 3120x1440 resolution and a refresh rate of 90Hz which provides smooth and quick transitions. Most smartphones cap their refresh rate at 60Hz which gives you an idea of how swift the OnePlus 7T Pro is. Essentially, this means gaming or browsing through social media is 1.5 times faster than on other devices.
Triple Camera Setup
You can channel your inner photographer with stunning photos from the three available cameras on the OnePlus 7T Pro. It sports a 48MP main camera together with an 8MP telephoto lens and a 16MP ultra-wide camera. With these capabilities and the latest software updates, the quality is something to behold. Additional features include the Nightscape mode for night-time photography, Bokeh effects to create a distinctive look in your photos and UltraShot, ensuring you get remarkable clarity in all conditions. You can also get awesome close up shots with the all-new Macro Mode.
The 16 MP selfie camera is housed in a pop-up mechanism at the top of the device and is revealed when you click the shooter. If you’re worried about breaking it, the device senses if you’ve dropped it and quickly withdraws the selfie camera to protect it from damage.
Battery Life
The OnePlus 7T Pro doesn’t disappoint with a 4,085mAh battery that lasts a full day when fully charged. Fast charging is where OnePlus places this device ahead of its predecessors as the company says it can charge the battery 23% faster than other devices in its stable. However, there isn’t an option for wireless charging.
Other Features
The OnePlus 7T Pro has a fingerprint scanner under the display, which is highly accurate, swift and easy to use. There is also the option for face unlocking. Unfortunately, the company has decided not to include a port for the headphone jack but you do get loud, clear stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos tuning.
Verdict
It’s a fantastic flagship option for those who don’t want to splash out for premium smartphones from other brands. The OnePlus 7T Pro sports most, if not all, of the necessary features that a high-end device offers.
